Origin of ICAM

The "International Council for Applied Mineralogy" (ICAM) was founded in Johannesburg, S. Africa in 1981 by scientists from Australia, Canada, Germany, France, Poland, South Africa and the USA

Goals

ICAM should provide an interdisciplinary forum for specialists in the fields of mineralogy, chemistry, mineral exploration, engineering, environment, ceramics, metallurgy, archaeometry and medicine.

ICAM is to recruit industrial participation, to highlight their current research needs, and to promote contacts to specialists in all fields of applied mineralogy.
