The Entebbe International Airport is located approximately seven minutes drive from the Imperial Resort Beach Hotel and majority of the hotels listed above.

Climate

Uganda has a typically tropical climate with little variation in temperature throughout the year. Distinctive wet and dry seasons characterize the climate for most of the country, except in the semi-arid north east. The dry season, generally from December to February and mid-June to mid-August, is the best time to visit. The two rainy seasons are from March to May, and September to November. In the south the rainiest month is April.

Currency

The common currency used is Uganda Shillings (UGX). 1 USD is approximately UGX 1800 which liable to fluctuation. There are several forex bureaus and Banks where foreign currency can be exchanged. The common exchangeable currencies include USD, EUROs, South African Rands, KShs, TZShs.

Power supply

The mains power supply in Uganda is 240V, 50Hz.

Health and medication

Like other countries with in the topics, malaria is common in Uganda. Participants are advised to take the necessary preventative measures before they come. However, most Entebbe hotels have mosquito nets in their rooms. There are a number of hospitals and private clinics in and around Entebbe that can treat malaria if contracted.
Participants are advised not to take unbottled water. Several brands of mineral water are available at affordable prices in most areas of Uganda.
Participants with special health problems are advised to inform the organising committee on arrival as a precaution in case they need assistance.
Participants are advised to obtain travel insurance in their countries before departure.
